Why does my vehicle Insurance keep going up?
Price rises have been driven by claims cost inflation, in 2022 for every £1 paid in premiums, insurers incurred £1.11 in claims and expenses. They now estimate that this figure rose to £1.14 in 2023.
This is largely due to vehicles being much more sophisticated nowadays. A new vehicle typically has an array of cameras, sensors and screens that are expensive to repair and replace. Such sophisticated technology requires people with the associated technical skills to do the repairs, which can be in short supply, pushing up costs further. Supply chain issues are also increasing the costs to settle claims and therefore what needs to be collected through premiums, for example, if it takes just a few days longer to receive a part for a vehicle awaiting repair, that’s three more days that the insurer may need to provide a temporary replacement vehicle to the driver.
How Can I reduce my commercial vehicle Insurance?
There are a number of measures/options that can offer a discount with certain Insurers,
Here are just a few:
Forward Facing Dash Cams
Reversing Warning System
Telematics
Increase the Policy Excess
Standard Alarm
Upgraded Thatcham Cat 1 or Cat 2 Alarm systems
Pay Annually and avoid any interest charges

What should I do after a Road Accident?
If possible, you should collect names, addresses and contact details from any drivers,
passengers and witnesses.
Ask the other drivers involved for their vehicle insurance details and try to establish whether they are the registered keeper of their vehicle. If they aren’t, find out who is and make a note of their name and address.
Call 999 straightaway if someone leaves the scene of the accident without giving their details.
Here are some other important details you should try to collect at the scene of the car accident:
The registration numbers of all vehicles involved, plus a note of each vehicle’s colour, make and model.
The time and date of the incident.
A sketch showing the positions of the vehicles involved/take photos
A description of the weather conditions, plus anything unusual you notice about the road quality or lighting.
A list of damage to vehicles and a description of any injuries sustained by pedestrians, drivers and passengers.
